Family Ties

Timely Quote

Timely Quote

I got a new message from God in the facebook app… And it is one timely message… With all these that my family is going through, sometimes we, especially, I, forget to stay calm and look at the bright side of life. I will no longer cry out of hopelessness but I will cry because of happiness that there is hope in tomorrow and in the idea that all will be well someday, if not soon. I am holding on because I know that my father is fighting his cancer bravely. Things happen for a reason, and I think this happened to my father and to my family because it is time to forgive the mistakes of the past and finally, let God be the center of our lives.

Family Ties

Each a Story

Each person’s life is a story, and here is mine. There was once a princess, if you still don’t get it, I am that princess, who lived with her mother, the queen and three brothers, the princes. Her father, the king, was trapped on the moon, evil monsters (heart disease and diabetes) made him stay there. The king ventured to the moon, in search of cheese, milk and honey when the princess was still a very young child. And ever since, the princess has hoped to see her father.

Today, the princess is all grown-up, at 24, but she still looks at the moon with  fondness, she still hopes of being able to go there to rescue her father.  One day, the princess heard of another evil monster (cancer) lurking by the king’s midst and suddenly, her world turned upside down.  The once bubbly and smiling princess has been unusually quiet these past few days and she is asking all the people in her kingdom, to whisper a prayer for the king’s healing.  The princess is being strong, all the more, because her father is being strong.  And if you wonder why the princess suddenly keeps still, she is whispering a prayer for her father and suddenly cries, she just needs you to tap her on the shoulder or hug her and tell her that everything will turn out fine.

Family Ties

Stop Now!

I only knew it in articles I’ve read, and even in drama series I’ve watched and in prayer brigades by friends who have friends or relatives who were suffering from it. But now that it has hit me hard on the face, it’s way harder than just crying by being sympathetic about other people’s agony.  It has now affected me personally and what’s harder is that it’s not me that has been eaten up by the disease. I cannot do anything to ease the pain. The only thing I can do is continue praying that everything will be fine.  Cancer, stop messing with my family! Please…
